Gorman, Hepbron, Hill, Humphreys, Joyce, Lancaster, Lee,
McLane, Miller, Newcomer, Peter, Steiner, Stump, Sulivane,
Welfley, Wilson—26.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.

Mr. Ford presented the petition of R. M. Busteed and 31
others, citizens of the First Election District of Queen Anne's
County, for the passage of the bill changing the voting place
from Dixon's Tavern to Sudlersville in said district.

Also,

The petition of E. C. Coppage and 36 others, citizens of
the First Election District of Queen Anne's County, against
the passage of the bill changing the voting place in said dis-
trict.

Which were read, and referred to Senators Ford, Miller
and Lee.

Mr. Lancaster presented the petition of Delia Robey, Jane
Wolfe and 65 other ladies of Charles County, praying for a
Local Option Law for said county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. Hepbron presented the petition of Joseph E. Ware and
H. M. Rollinson and 11 others, citizens of Kent County,
praying that a provision enabling and requiring a vote of the
people to be taken in, and during the first week in April,
1878, may be incorporated in the Local Option Bill for said
county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

On motion by Mr. Ford, it was

Ordered, That when the Senate adjourns to day, it stand
adjourned until Monday, the 18th March, instant, at 12
o'clock, M.

On motion by Mr. Lee, it was

Ordered, That 500 copies of the Rules adopted for the gov-
ernment of the Senate, be printed for the use of the Senate.

On motion by Mr. Bannon,

Leave was granted to Senators Bannon, Wilson and Hep-
bron, to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to erect a school
house for colored children, in the Fourth District, and also
one in the First District of Anne Arundel County,
