On motion by Mr. Dennis,

Leave was granted to Senators Dennis, Humphreys and
Franklin to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to change-
the name of Hungary Neck District, in Somerset County.

On motion by Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted to Senators Ford, Milller and Lee to-
introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to change the voting
place in the 1st Election District of Queen Anne's County,
from Dixon's to Sudlersville.

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal and
re-enact with amendments Section 1, and to repeal Section 4,
of Article 13, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Bastardy and Fornication."

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal Sec-
tions 146, 147, 148, 149 and 150, of Article 30, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments,"
sub-title "Negroes ;" Sections 153 and 154 of same Article
and title, sub-title "Passes to Negroes ;" and Sections 194,
195, 196, 197, 198, 299 and 200 of same Article and title,
sub-title "Sentence of Negroes."

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act for the relief of Edwin
Dashiell, late Sheriif of Dorchester County.

On motion by Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to add an ad'di-
tional section to Article 40, of the Code of Public General1
Laws, title "Fines and Forfeitures."

Mr. McLane, from the Committee on Finance, reported
favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to prohibit the granting of
license for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager
beer, within the village of Darlington, in Harford County,
or within one mile from the Academy building in said
village.

Which was read the second time.
