The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and de-
livered the following message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 7th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We have received your message, declining to recede from
your proposed amendments to the House Bill No. 84, entitled
an Act to regulate the fees of the State's Attorney for
Charles County; we respectfully propose, with the concur-
rence of your Honorable Body, the appointment of a Com-
mittee of Conference, consisting of five on the part of the
House, and three on the part of the Senate, upon the dis-
agreeing votes of the two Houses upon said bill; we have
appointed on the part of the House Messrs. Cox, Mitchell, of
Charles, Johnson, Scott and Harig.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Cecil County to refund to or credit Philip S. B.
Conner and Edward E. Conner with certain taxes paid by
them on account of an erroneoas assessment of their property
in said county.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 36, of Article
15, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Montgomery
County," sub-title "Jurors," as the same was repealed and
re-enacted by the Acts of 1876, Chapter 187.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Peter, Stump and Franklin.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Garrett County, to refund to the Lochiel Lum-
ber, Mining, Manufacturing and Improvement Company, of
Allegany County, certain taxes paid by it in error and excess.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Welfley, Combs, of Allegany, and Steiner.
