House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and

Common Council of Westminster to construct water works
for, and to lay water mains within the corporated limits
thereof, to buy the necessary appurtenances for the protection
of property, to collect water rents and to issue bonds, and to
repeal all other Acts inconsistent with the same.

Which was read the first time, and referred to Senators
Lee, Ford and Combs, of St. Mary's.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller to
refund to August Bender the sum of $40, erroneously paid
by him as tax on his commission as weigher of hay.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Also, delivered

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 74, cf Ar-
ticle 75, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Pleading, Practice and Process," sub-title "Removal of

Causes," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Gorman submitted the following message :

BY THE SENATE,

March 7th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message asking the return of Sen-
ate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 45, of Article 51, of
the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Justices of the
Peace," sub-title "Supersedeas and Execution," and to re-

enact the same with amendments, and herewith return said
bill.

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and together with the bill
therein referred to, sent to the House of Delegates.
