Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment of a
sum of money to pay Charles J. M. Gwinn, Attorney Gener-
al, for clerical services and printing,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals in the State of Maryland.

The amendments submitted by Mr. Cooper, on the 27th
ult., were then adopted.

Said bill as amended,

Was then read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed
for a third re ding.

Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act of
1812, Chapter 159, entitled an Act for founding an Univer-
sity in the city or precincts of Baltimore, by the name of the
University of Maryland, and to authorize the regents of the
University of Maryland to apply a portion of the property
held by said University to the general uses of said Universi-
ty, and to sell said property and apply the proceeds to the
general uses of said University,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 44, of Article
24, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Convey-
ancing," sub-title "Bills of Sale," and to re-enact the same
with amendments,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 24, of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Conveyancing," by ad-
ding a sub-section to Sections 2 and 3, of said Article,

Being upon its second rending,
On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Said bill was recommitted to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with
amendments, Sections 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 and 11, of Chapter 233,
of the Acts of 1874, entitled an Act to establish the Mary-
land House of Correction,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
