Garey, Gorman, Hepbron, Hill, Joyce, Lancaster, Lee,
McLane, Miller, Newcomer, Peter, Steiner, Stump, Sulivane,
Welfley, Wilson—25.

The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved.

The President presented to the Senate the petition of Geo.
R. Goldsborough and 22 others, citizens of Talbot County,
praying for an Act to prevent the taking or catching of fish,
other than by hook and line for four years, and that terra-
pins shall only be caught with oyster tongs or paws, in the
waters of Wye and Miles Rivers.

Which was read, and referred to Senators Lloyd, Miller
and Ford.

Mr. Cooper presented the petition of Wm. J. Dickey, and
43 others of Baltimore City, asking for a law to provide for
an entire new registration of voters throughout the
State.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Elec-
tions.

Mr. Hepbron presented the petition of Joseph P. Ireland,
Charles Clark, E. E. Miller and John W. Ireland, and 70
others of Kent County, praying for a Local Option Law.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. Combs, of Allegany, presented the petition of Peter
Peebles, and 66 others, citizens of the town of Lonaconing,
in Allegany County, against the incorporation of said
town.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

Mr. Ford presented the petition of John W. Glanville, C.
T. Wyatt, W. T. Todd, Prier Armstrong, Charles Hillyard,
James Anderson, John Wilkinson, J. O. Rasin and David-
son & Co., of Queen Anne's County, praying that in the
event of the passage of the Local Option Law for said
county, that the election shall be held in November next, and
the law, if adopted, shall go into effect May 1st, 1879.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Mr. Miller presented the petition of Rowland and Way,
R. A. Stephenson, John Squier, A. L. Barry, John Keaveny,
and 230 others, merchants, manufacturers, &c., of Cecil
County, asking the passage of an Act to abolish the system
