JOURNAL.

ANNAPOLIS, January 2nd, 1878.

STATE OF MARYLAND, TO WIT:

In compliance with the requirement of the Constitution,
the Senators, and Senators elect, assembled in the Senate
Chamber this day.

At 12 o'clock, M., Augustus Gassaway, Secretary of the
late Senate, proceeded to call the roll, when the following
Senators answered to their names:

Anne Arundel County—Michael Bannon.
Baltimore County—Edward D. Freeman.
Baltimore City—1st Legislative Dist. —John H. Cooper.

" " 3rd Legislative Dist. —E. T. Joyce.
Carroll County—James Fenner Lee.
Frederick County—Lewis H. Steiner.
Howard County—Arthur P. Gorman.
Kent County—William T. Hepbron.
Queen Anne's County—Budd S. Ford.
Somerset County—James U. Dennis.
Washington County—David H. Newcomer.
Wicomico County—Thomas Humphreys.
The following Senators elect also answered to their names:
Allegany County—John S. Combs.

Baltimore City—2nd Legislative Dist. —Robert M. McLane.
Caroline County—Thomas F. Garey.
Cecil County—John M. Miller.
Calvert County—Joseph A. Wilson.
