tion.

Mr. Freeman submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

February 26th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We respectfully request your Honorable Body to return to-
us, for further consideration, House bill entitled an Act to
repeal Section 42, Article 3, of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Baltimore County," sub-title "Circuit Court,"
as amended and re-enacted by Chapter 180, passed at Janu-
ary Session 1872, and to re-enact the same with amendments..

Secretary.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the House of
Delegates.

Mr. Sulivane presented the petition of 74 citizens of
Strait's District, Dorchester County, for another vote on Lo-
cal Option.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Also,

The petition of 18 citizens of Dorchester County, for pay-
ment to Major S. S. Dawson, for services in enrolling
militia.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Fi-
nance.

Mr. Combs, of St. Mary's, presented the petitions of Ed-
ward A. Burch and 12 others; of William F. Bailey and 13
others, and of G. K. Graves and 79 others, citizens of St.
Mary's County, praying for an Act to enable the citizens of
said county to determine, by ballot, whether or not intoxica-
ting liquors shall be sold in said county.

Which were severally read, and referred to the Commit-
tee on Temperance.

Also,

The petition of S. Trader and 85 others, citizens of St.
Mary's County, praying for the passage of an Act granting
to the citizens of said county the exclusive right to dredge for
oysters in the Potomac river.
