Also, reported favorably, the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay the claim of John Murphy & Co.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay the claim of James S. Franklin.

House bill entitled an Act to pay Isaac M. Denson a bal-
ance due for cement furnished for the use of the State to-
Thos. H. Moore, late Weigher of Live Stock.

Which were read the second time.

Mr. Newcomer, from a Select Committee, reported favora-

bly,

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Sections 110 and 111,
of Article 21, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
"Washington County," and sub-titled "Hagerstown," and
to repeal Chapter 146, of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, passed at the January Session, 1864, entitled
an Act to repeal Section 124, of Article 21, of the Public Lo-
cal Laws relating to the town of Hagerstown, in Washington
County, and to re-enact the same with an amendment, au-
thorizing the Mayor and Council to light up the streets of
said town, &c., and to re-enact said sections in an amended
and different form, in revision of the charter of Hagerstown,
Maryland, with the following amendment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 119, line 2, strikeout the word "may," and insert
the word "shall."

Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the
Board of Trade of Baltimore City,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

And,

On motion by Mr. McLane,

Made the order of the day for Thursday, the 28th inst.
Mr. Gorman submitted the following message :
