Mr, Bannon submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out "two hundred and fifty" wherever it occurs and
insert "one hundred."

Said bill, as amended, was then read the third time, and
passed by yeas and nays, as follows :

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

At 3,30, P. M., the Senate took a recess until 8 o'clock,
P. M.

NIGHT SESSION.
WEDNESDAY, February 20th, 1878.
Senate met at 8 o'clock, P. M.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Bannon, Combs, of Allegany, Combs,
of St. Mary's Dennis, Ford, Franklin, Freeman, Garey, Gor-
man, Hepbron, Hill, Joyce, Lee, Miller, Newcomer, Stump,
Sulivane, Welfley, Wilson—19.

At 8:05 P. M.,

Mr. Joyce moved a call of the Senate.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was directed to notify absent Sena-
tors that their presence was required in the Senate Chamber.

At 8:10 P. M.,

On motion by Mr. Joyce,
