Humphreys,

The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and re-
turned the following bills :

Senate bill entitled an Act to make effectual the provisions
made by the Act of December Session, 1844, Chapter 281,
entitled an Act to provide for the completion of the Chesa-
peake and Ohio Canal to Cumberland, and for other pur-
poses, in so far as said Act relates to putting and keeping
the said Chesapeake and Ohio Canal in good condition and
repair, and to make the said Canal aa effective means of
transportation.

Endorsed: "Passed by yeas and nays."

Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to
be numbered Section 13, to the 57th Article of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Limitation of Actions,"
prescribing the time within which the sanction of the Legis-
lature shall be given to every gift, sale or devise of land,
goods or chattels to any public teacher, minister or preacher
of the gospel, or any religious sect, order or denomination.

Endorsed : "Reported unfavorably from the Committee on
the Judiciary, and report adopted."

On motion by Mr. Ford,
At 2.40, P. M., the Senate went into Executive Session.

At 3.05, P. M, the Senate resumed the consideration of
Legislative busiuess.

The Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared and
delivered a communication from the Executive, endorsed
"Executive Business."

Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller of
the Treasury to adjust and settle the accounts due by Collec-
tors, Sheriffs, Clerks of Courts, Registers of Wills and other
receivers of public moneys in cases where the indebtedness
accrued prior to and including the year 1875,

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as
follows:
