The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following bills :

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 1, of Article
73, Code of Public General Laws, title "Penitentiary," and
to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

Hourie bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with an
amendment, Section 1, of an Article passed at January Ses-
sion, 1870, Chapter 247, entitled an Act to amend the 16th
Article, of the Code of Public General Laws, by adding
thereto the following sections, relating to trustees appointed
by will or by a decree of a Court of Equity, to fill a vacancy
in the office of trustee in any trust relating to real estate, or
personal estate, or leasehold property created by will.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money

to pay the claim of John Murphy & Co.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay- the claims of Joseph J. Harig and William T. Mark-
land & Bro.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay the claim of Jarnes S. Franklin.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act to pay Isaac M. Denson a bal-
ance due for cement furnished for the use of the State to Thos.
H. Moore, late Weigher of Live Stock.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.

House bill entitled an Act for the improvement of North
Avenue, and to repeal Sections 858, 859 and 860, of Article
4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "City of Bal-
timore," and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Bal-

timore City Senators.
