The petition of William Young and J. A. Cunningham
and 51 others, citizens of Harford County, praying that the
Act of 1872, Chapter 244, be amended so as to require that
all grain carried to Baltimore for sale, in considerable quan-
tities, shall be weighed by the State Weigher.

Which was read, and referred to Senators Stump, Dennis,
Hill, Hepbron and Lee.

Also,

The petition of John C. Hanna and 48 others, citizens of
Harford County, praying for the repeal of the Act of 1876,
providing for the collection of taxes in said county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Garey presented the petition of Charles A. Dunning
and 179 others, citizens of Caroline County, praying for the
passage of a stock law for the Second and Third Election Dis-
tricts of said County.

Also,

The petition of Henry Blackistone and 85 others, citizens
of Caroline County, protesting against the passage of a stock
law for the Third Election District of said County.

Also,

The petition of William Loockerman and 100 others, citi-
zens of Caroline County, protesting against the passage of a
stock law, and the repeal of the fence law.

Which were severally read, and referred to Senators Garey,
Franklin and Hill.

Mr. Combs, of St. Mary's, presented the petition of R. P.
Blackistone and 114 others, citizens of St." Mary's County,
praying that the Legislature may pass no law, prohibiting the
sale of liquors in said county.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Also,

The petition of C. M. Jones, of St. Mary's County, asking
for a pension for services rendered in the war of 1812.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. McLane presented the memorial of the Maryland In-
stitution for the Instruction of the Blind, praying an appro-
priation of money.
