On motion by Mr. Ford,

Leave was granted to Senators Ford, Miller and Hepbron,
to introduce a bill to be entitled an Act to enact a law au-
thorizing the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County,
to levy a sum of money as a pension for Solomon Tate of
said county.

On motion by Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act to adjust the pending con-
troversies between the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Com-
pany and the State, by providing for the payment by said
Company of certain sums into the Treasury, in full of all
claims of the State against it, up to the 1st of January, 1878,
and by substituting henceforth the payment annually by said
Company to the State of a tax of one-half of one per centum
of its gross receipts within the State, including those of its.
Washington Branch Road, in lieu of the payment of one-
fifth of its gross receipts for transportation of passengers on
its Washington Branch Railroad, as provided by the 8th
Section of the Act of 1832, Chapter 175.

On motion by Mr. Sulivane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to be entitled an Act to use and regulate the use
of the Park's Excise Coupon in this State.

Mr. Dennis, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, reported favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to sanction, confirm and make
valid a bequest of five hundred dollars in the will and testa-
ment of Ursula Wilcoxon, late of Montgomery county,
deceased, to the vestry of Prince George's Parish, in said
county, and to authorize and empower said vestry to take
and receive the same and hold it subject to the provision of
said will.

Which was read the second time.
Also, favorably,

House bill entitled an Act to sanction certain bequests
under the last will and testament of Susan Duke Callow,
late of Baltimore City, deceased,

Which was read the second time.
Also, favorably,

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 125, of Article
10, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester
