No. 13. An Act to authorize and direct the County Com-
missioners of Talbot County to appoint an additional consta-
ble for the First Election District of said county.

No. 14. An Act to repeal Section 2 of Article 7, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Carroll County," sub-
title, "Alms House," and to amend and re-enact the same.

The President presented to the Senate a communication
from the Baltimore Female College, together with the 30th
Annual Catalogue of said College.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Also,

A communication from the Beard of School Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Cooper presented the petition of Otho W. Beall, a
soldier of the war of 1812 and 1814, praying for a pension.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Hepbron presented the resolution of the Fairlee
Grange, No. 8, of Kent County, disapproving of the action
of the State Grange in relation to the re-enactment of the
law taxing mortgages.

Also,

The petition of the Fairlee Grange, No. 8, of Kent Coun-
ty, praying for the establishment of an Agricultural Experi-
ment Station.

Which were read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Humphreys presented the petition of 41 citizens of
Wicomico County, asking for the repeal of the Fence Law for
said county.

Which was read and referred to Senators Humphreys,
Dennis and Franklin.

Mr. Freeman presented the petition of Geoige T. Loomis
and 45 others, also the petition of Benjamin Zimmerman
and 40 others, and also the petition of C. W. Dorsey and
52 others, citizens of Wetheredsville and neighborhood, in
Baltimore County, asking for a law to prohibit the sale of
intoxicating liquors within a mile of said village.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Temperance.
