150 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 5,

Public Schools of Frederick County, $2. 178. 34 more than was
received; that such charge was fraudulent or erroneous, as
can be shown by the drafts of the Comptroller, and clearly
proven to the satisfaction of your Honorable Bodies.

4th. The Board of County School Commissioners of Frede-
rick County further aver, that they have great reason to fear,
and verily believe that a powerful effort is being made by
certain influential Representatives in the Senate to cover up
this whole matter by Legislative Enactments, confirming the
illegal distribution of the Comptroller, and thus prevent it
coming to the light and knowledge of the people of the
State, against which action we most earnestly protest.

Your memorialists therefore pray your Honorable Bodies
not to pass any Act or Bill that will in any way tend to
legalize the said illegal distribution of the Public School
Tax of the State, by the said Levin Woolford, or that may
in any manner hinder or delay the several Boards of County
School Commissioners of the State in obtaining from the
Treasury of the State, their full and just proportion of all
moneys that have been received into the said Treasury on ac-
count of the Public School Tax, or on account of the Free
School Fund.

And as in duty bound, your memorialists will ever pray, &c.
Resolved, That the foregoing memorial signed by the
members of this Board, and attested by the Secretary thereof
be presented to the General Assembly of the State, through
the representation in said General Assembly from this
county.
