MONDAY, April 1st, 1878.

The following communications, which had been received
from his Excellency, Governor Carroll, by the hands of the
Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, were read:

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, April 1, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

I nominate James W. Foster as Notary Public at Havre
de Grace, Harford County.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.
On motion by Mr, Stump,
The aforegoing nomination was advised and consented to.

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTITE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, April 1st, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

I nominate James A. Bruce and William F. Stilley as
Supervisors of Elections in Baltimore City, vice W. G. Har-
rison and James Sloan, Jr., who declined appointment.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.
On motion by Mr. Cooper,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointments

Mr. Ford, from the Committee on Executive Nominations,
to which had been referred the nominations for the State
Board of Health, reported that the Committee were of opinion
that said nominations ought to be confirmed.

Whereupon the Senate advised and consented to said nomi-
nations.

Also reported, that the Committee were of opinion that the
nomination of ———— Trippe, as one of the Supervisors of
Election in Baltimore City, ought to be confirmed.

Whereupon the Senate advised and consented to the said
appointment.
