Whereupon the Senate advised and consented to said nom-

On motion by Mr. Ford,

The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative bus-
iness.

TUESDAY, March 26th, 1878.

The following communications which had been received
from His Excellency, Governor Carroll, by the hands of Hon.
R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, were read.

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 22d, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

I nominate Otho Oliver as Justice of the Peace for the 3d
district of Washington County, to fill the number the dis-
trict is entitled to.

On motion by Mr. Newcomer,

The Senate advised and consented to the aforegoing ap-
pointment.
