STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DFPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 13th, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

I nominate Cornelius J. Meehan as Justice of the Peace for
the Second District of Howard County, vice William Davis
of G., resigned.

JOHN LEE CARROLL.

On motion by Mr. Gorman,

The aforegoing appointment was referred to the Committee
on Executive Nominations.

STATE OF MARYLAND,

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,

Annapolis, March 14, 1878.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

I nominate William J. S. Clark as Notary Public at New-
town, Worcester County.

On motion by Mr. Franklin,

The aforegoing appointment was referred to the Committee
on Executive Nominations.

Mr. Ford, from the Committee on Executive Nominations,
to which had been referred the nominations for Caroline
County, Auctioneers in the City of Baltimore, Directors of
the Maryland Industrial School for Girls, Auctioneers at To-
bacco Warehouse No. 5, in the City of Baltimore, Inspector
of Mines in Allegany County, and Justices of the Peace in
the City of Baltimore, reported that the Committee were of
opinion that said nominations ought to be confirmed.

Whereupon the Senate advised and consented to said nomi-
nations.

Also reported, that the Committee were of opinion that the
nominations for Officers of Registration in the City of Balti-
more should be confirmed, except the nomination of Augus-
tine J. Smith and Jacob Shue.

Whereupon the Senate advised and consented to the said
nominations.

On motion by Mr. Lee,

The Senate resumed the consideration of Legislative busi-
ness.
