agricultural experiment station, for two years.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Humphreys presented the petition of citizens of Wi-
comico County, asking for the repeal of the Fence Law for
said county.

Which was read, and referred to Senators Humphreys,
Steiner and Dennis.

Mr. Miller presented the petition of the Rev. Henry S.
Skinner, Rector of Trinity Church, Elkton, Maryland, ask-
ing the repeal of the 7th Section of Article 60, of Code of
Public General Laws, imposing a tax on Marriage Licenses.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Finance.

The Hon. R. C. Hollyday, Secretary of State, appeared and
delivered a communication from the Executive, endorsed "Ex-
ecutive Business. "

Mr. Garey presented the petition of M. L. Smith, Willis
Charles and Henry Mowbray and 13 others, of Caroline
County, asking the Legislature to correct an error in the
name of Catharine Neal, which is spelled on pension roll Cath-
arine Weal, so that she may receive the benefit of the bounty
for the widows of the soldiers of the war of 1812.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Garey presented the petition of J. L. Perry, C. E.
Sigler, T. A. Smith and 33 others, praying for a Stock Law
in the 2nd Election District of Caroline County.

Which was read, and referred to Senators Garey, Frank-
lin and Hill.

Mr. Garey presented the petition of William A. Ford,
John F. Dawson, Sylvester Smith and 250 others, praying
for an additional Election District in Caroline County, to be
formed and made out of Districts Nos. 2 and 3, and to be
known as District No. 6, or Ridgeley District.

Which was read, and referred to Senators Garey, Frank-
lin and Hill.

On motion by Mr. Miller,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-
troduce a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1872,
Chapter 244, authorizing the Governor to appoint Weighers
of Grain.
