100 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 25,

pointment of a Joint Special Committee, to consist of four
Members on the part of the House of Delegates, and three
on the part of the Senate to whom all petitions and memo-
rials on the subject of 'Temperance' shall be referred, and
respectfully decline to concur therein, and suggest that as
any legislation on the subject will necessarily affect the reve-
nues of the State, that the Committee on Ways and Means,
of the House of Delegates, and the Finance Committee of
the Senate be instructed to act jointly in the consideration
of the subject. "

Which was adopted.

Mr. Gorman moved to reconsider the vote by which the
said amendment was adopted.

On the question being put,

It was determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Gorman then withdrew said amendment.

The question then recurred upon the adoption of the mes-
sage submitted by Mr. Freeman, and,

On the question being put,

It was determined in the affirmative.

Said message was then read, assented to and sent to the
House of Delegates.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal Chapter 160, of the
Acts of 1876, entitled an Act to encourage the killing of
Hawks, Big Owls, Foxes and Weasels in the counties of
Charles and Calvert,

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:
