REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Baker, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably, with amendments,

Senate bill, File No. 165, entitled "An Act to repeal
section 21 of Article 10, of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled 'Attorney's,' sub title 'States Attorney'
so far as the same applies to Washington county, and
to add and enact in lieu thereof two additional sec-
tions to the Code of Public Local Laws; Article 22,
title 'Washington County,' providing a fixed salary
for the State's Attorney and abolishing compensation
by fees."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

In section 388 A, second line, strike out the word
"four" and insert the word "live."

Which were adopted.

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Hall, from the Baltimore city delegation, re-
ported favorably,

Senate bill, File No. 178. entitled "An Act to create
a commission on the burnt district of Baltimore city;
to define its duties and powers; to regulate its methods
of procedure; to define the extent of said district; to
provide for opening, laying out, extending, widening,
straightening and closing streets, lanes and alleys; for
establishing public squares and market spaces, build-
ing lines and the width of sidewalks in said district;
for adding to, extending and partly filling the harbor
or basin of Baltimore city; and for establishing public
wharves and docks, and to provide for appropriating:
a portion of the general sinking fund of Baltimore
city and other monies for the purpose of this Act."

Which was read the second time.
Mr. Norris moved,

To suspend the Rules and place the bill upon its
third reading and final passage.
