Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Also favorably, with amendments,

House bill, File No. 381, entitled "An Act to repeal
and re-enact with amendments section 1 of Article 72,
of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title
'Oysters,' and re-enacted by chapter 380, Acts of 1894."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

After the word "license" at end of section J, add,
"provided, that nothing in this Act shall apply to the

citizens of Queen Anne's, Talbot, Somerst, Kent and
Anne Arundel counties, or the waters thereof, in so
far as it affects the time allowed for the taking and

catching of oysters in said counties."

Which was read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

ORDER OF THE DAY,

The hour of 1 o'clock, p. m., having arrived,"
The Chair laid before the House the Special Order
of the Day, being,

Senate bill, File No. 53, entitled "An Act to amend
section 1 of Article 1 of the Constitution of this State,
and to provide for the submission of said amendment
to the qualified voters of this State for adoption or
rejection."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

By Mr. Godwin,

Strike out all of section 1, after the words "quali-
fied voter" in line 24 of printed bill.

Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follows:
