one new section to Article 56 of the Code of Public
General Laws of the State of Maryland, said section
to be known as 'Section 83 A,' for the purpose of pro-
hibiting the issuing of licenses for the sale of liquor
or intoxicating beverages of whatsoever kind on the
Potomac river or upon the property of the Chesapeake
and Ohio Canal Company, within the State of Mary-
land."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend title to read after the words "Chesapeake
and Ohio Canal," "within Allegany and Washington
counties in the State of Maryland."

Strike out in section 1 "that this Act shall not be
construed to apply to lesses of properties from the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Companies."
