Mr. Dodson, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

House bill. File 488, entitled "An Act torequire all
persons owning or operating, or who shall hereafter
own and operate any saw-mill in Talbot county, and
not paying taxes thereon to its full, assessable value,
to procure a license therefor."

Which was reud the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Feaga, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably, with amendments,

House bill, File No. 348, entitled "An Act to repeal
sections 105-113 inclusive, of Article 1, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title 'Allegany County,' sub-title
"Elections, Primary,' and to repeal an addition there-
to designated as 'Section 105 A, as enacted by Act of
1900, chapter 365 and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments and to enact additional sections to be designated
as 'Sections 113 A, 113 B, 113 C and 113 D.' "

AMENDMENT; PROPOSED.

Amend bill by adding at the end of section 106,
printed bill, the following :

"If, after due notice, no candidate complies with
this Act, by filing his name for nomination by direct
vote, then the vacancy shall be tilled by a majority
vote of the members of the County Committee."

Which was adopted.

After the word "Board," in line 107 printed bill,
section 109, add "no voter shall be allowed more than
ten minutes to mark his ballot."

Which was adopted.

After line 221, in section 112 in printed bill, add
"'and candidates for any other office shall pay such a
fee as the party chairman may fix, and the rates
above set forth, shall prevail unless the county chair-
man shall determine that a smaller fee will be sufficient
to defray the expenses for such primary election."

Which was adopted.
