nections with the West Virginia Central Railroad, and
is now actively engaged in said work; and
Whereas, For the purpose of completing such work
the said railroad has introduced in the General As-
sembly of Maryland, two bills, which are necessary to
enable said railroad system to carry into effect its
original purposes and pledges; and
Whereas, Said bills have been unanimously passed
by the Honorable Senate of Maryland and are now
pending betore the Honorable House of Delegates of
this State, and it is important that the commercial
and business interests of Baltimore should make known
to the Honorable members of said House of Delegates,
the public interest of the city of Baltimore in the com-
pletion of said system and in the prompt passage of
the measures necessary to accomplish the same; There-
fore be it
Resolved, That the Representatives of the trade
organizations of Baltimore in conference assembled
to-wit: Merchants and Manufacturers Association,
Baltimore Stock Exchange, Baltimore Chamber of
Commerce, Baltimore Board . of Trade, Lumber
Exchange, Builders' Exchange, Merchants' Fruit
Exchange, Produce Dealers' Credit and Collec-
tive Association, East Baltimore Business Men's
Association, Old Town Merchants' and Manu-
facturers' Association, Baltimore Branch National
League Commission Merchants of the United States,
'Citizens' Association of North Baltimore, Mt. Royal
Improvement Association. South Baltimore Busi-
ness Association, Frederick Avenue Business Asso-
ciation, West Baltimore Improvement Association,
do hereby earnestly urge upon the Honorable Mem-
bers of the House of Delegates of Maryland, the
prompt passage of the two bills now pending before
said body, one providing for the extension of the
Western Maryland Tidewater Railroad in the city of
Baltimore, and the other providing for the western
extension of the Western Maryland Railroad to Cum-
berland, Maryland; and be it further
Resolved, That the Chairman of this meeting be
authorized if in his judgment he should deem it proper,
