The Journal of the 13th was read and approved.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS, &o.

Mr. Harrison presented a petition from W. L.
Henser and 71 voters of Point of Rocks and vicinity,
asking for an Act prohibiting the issuing of licenses
to sell spirituous liquors in the said village.

Which was read, and referred to the Frederick
county delegation.

Also,

A petition from Roland R. Simpson and 127 resi-
dents of Liberty district in Frederick county, for an
Act, making it unlawful for any person to dispose of
spirituous liquors in said district.

Which was read, and referred to the Frederick
delegation.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Andrews, it was
Ordered, That the House proceed to receive nomi-
nations for Treasurer of the State.

On motion of Mr. Merrick, it was
Ordered, That G. Ernest Hearn be excused from at-
tendance of to-day's session on account of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Bosse, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Louis Becker be excused from
attendance of to-day's session on account of important
business.

On motion of Mr. Hopkins, it was
Ordered, That J. H. Murphy of Dorchester, be ex-
cused for absence from service yesterday and to-day on
account of business.

On motion of Mr. Hall, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Trager be excused from atten-
