Whereas the citizens of the State of Maryland and
of the city of Baltimore propose to begin at once the-
rehabilitating of their stricken cjty with a view to in-
creasing its usefulness as a seaport and place of export
and import, and to that end are making every effort
in their power,

Now, therefore, the General Assembly of the State'
of Maryland do hereby request the representatives of
this State in the Congress of the United States of
America to make every effort in their power to secure-
from the Federal Government a substantial appropri-
ation for the immediate improvement of the harbor of
Baltimore city.

And it is ordered that a copy of this resolution be
sent to each and every representative of this State in
the Congress of the United States of America.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Federal Relations.

The Senate returned House bill, File No. 2, entitled
"An Act to authorize the President and Commissioners
of Chesapeake city to issue bonds of said town to pay
off the indebtedness of said town, growing out of a
suit of Messrs. Ayres J. Emmons and otherwise."

Endorsed : "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays."

Also,

House bill. File No. 3, entitled "An Act to provide
for building an addition to the Court House at Bel
Air in Harford county."

Endorsed : "Read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays."

Mr. Goslin submitted the following message :
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 9th, 1904.
