for said primary. The books of registry shall be
furnished the return judge of each polling place, for
the purpose of determining the right of the party to
vote, and no one shall be entitled to vote at said pri-
mary election who is not a registered voter in the pre-
cinct in which he applied to vote ; provided, however,
that any person who may since the last preceding
registration, come of age or otherwise acquire the right
to vote at the election next succeeding said primary
election, may vote upon satisfying the judges by
proper evidence that he will be entitled to register
under the laws of this State at the next succeeding
registration, and for the purposes of this section, the
said judges of election may examine upon oath or af-
firmation such witnesses as may be adduced before
them, including the applicant himself ; the person
making said oaths and affirmations shall be subject to
the same penalties as if the same were made in judic-
ial proceedings. But the said judges of election are
not to make any marks or entries whatever upon said
registration books, but are to use the same only for
the purpose of determining the right of an applicant
to vote.

"Sec. 8. The clerks in each precinct shall keep in
books, to be furnished them for that purpose, an entry
of the name and party affiliation of each person offer-
ing to vote ; said books to be returned to the Supervi-
sors of Election, together with the returns of said pri-
mary election.

"Sec. 9. It shall be the duty of said Board of Super-
visors of Election to appoint the place of voting in
each precinct, and to furnish two ballot boxes f or each
precinct, one to be used by each political party, at
least two days' prior to said primary election.

"Sec. 10. Before entering upon the discharge of their
duties, one of the clerks in each of the precincts of
Montgomery county, shall administer to the judges
the following oath :

"In the presence of Almighty God, you solemnly
promise and declare that you will well and faithfully
perform the office of ———————, in———————Election
