"designate" and insert the words "the boundary of
the territory over which said officer appointed under
the provisions of this Act shall have jurisdiction."

In line 34, strike out the words "the territory of
said county" and insert the words "all Act or parts of
any Act inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed."

Which was read the second time.

Mr. Buckler, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

House bill, File No. 868, entitled "An Act to auth-
orize and direct the County Commissioners of St.
Mary's county, to levy a sum of money not exceeding "
$450, to build a school house for white children at or
near Hillville, in Sixth Election District of St. Mary's
county."

Which was read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The Chair distributed the following message from
the Senate:

Senate bill, File Ne. 894, entitled "An Act to in-
crease the number of trustees of the St. Mary's Female
Seminary, in S. Mary's county, Maryland."

Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on the Judiciary.

Also,

Senate bill, File No. 421, entitled "An Act to pre-
vent persons from unlawfully using or wearing the
insignia, distinctive ribbons, membership rosette or
button of the Benevolent and Protective Order of
Elks of the United States of America."

Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Judiciary.
Also

Senate bill, File No. 135, to cede the jurisdiction of
the State of Maryland, of the United States of America
over so much land as has been or may be hereafter
acquired for the public purposes of the United States."

Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Federal Relations.
