By Mr. Roth,

A bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the
United Surety Company, passed at the January ses-
sion of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1902, being
chapter 479 of said session, by repealing and re-enact-
ing section 2 thereof, and by adding sections 20 and
21 thereto."

Which was read the first time and referred to the
Committee on Corporations.

REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.

Mr. Wingate from Select Committee reported favora-
bly, with amendments,

House bill File 774 entitled "An Act to repeal and
re-enact with amendments sections 253, chapter 693 of
the Acts of 1900 so as to define certain lines wherein
oysters may be taken with scoops or dredges in the
waters of Dorchester county."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Strike out all after the words "a bill" and insert the
following : "Entitled an act to prohibit the taking or
catching of oysters with scoop, scrape, drag or dredge
or any similar instrument in any of the waters of
Dorchester county, east and north of a straight line
from the extreme westward limit of Crab Point to the
extreme westward limit of Windmill Point in Honga
river, Dorchester county, Maryland."

"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it shall be unlawful for any person
to take or catch oysters with scoop, scrape, drag or
dredge or any similar instrument by hand or other-
wise in that part of Honga river east north of a
straight line from the extreme westward limit of
Windmill Point in Honga river, Dorchester county,
Maryland.

"Sec. 2. Anyone violating the provisions of this Act
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon,
conviction before any Justice of the Peace of Dorches-
ter county, or before the Circuit Court of said county
where the offense is committed in the waters of said
county, and upon conviction before any Justice of the
