INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
By Mr. Goslin,

A bill entitled "An Act to enlarge and extend the
powers of the Ridgely Savings Bank of Caroline
county, Maryland, and to increase or decrease the
board of directors of the same."

"Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Corporations.

By Mr. Lipman,

A bill entitled "An Act to appropriate a sum of
money to repair and refurnish the Executive mansion."

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Committee on Ways and Means.

By Mr. Murphy, of Baltimore city,

A bill entitled "An Act to prohibit the laying of
railway tracks upon Evergreen Terrace, between, Ful-
ton avenue and Orem lane or avenue, in the city of
Baltimore, without the consent of the General As-
sembly of Maryland."

Which was read the first time, and referred to the
Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Linthicum presented the following communica-
tion :

The following preamble and resolution was adopted
at a general meeting of the Merchants & Manufactur-
ers Association, held Tuesday, January 12th, 1904:

Whereas, The Louisiana Purchase Exposition to be
held in St. Louis from May 1st to Nov. 30th, 1904, is
planned to be the largest and most complete exhibit
of the resources of the United States and foreign
countries ever held, and will emphasize the magnificent
industrial and educational development achieved by
this country; and

Whereas, The several States and Territories of the
Union have, with few exceptions, made appropriations
to provide for suitable representation at said exposi-
tion, including the erection of State buildings, and
adequate exhibits displaying the variety and character
of their respective resources; and

Whereas, The State of Maryland is one of the origi-
