On motion of Mr. Norris, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Reed be excused from to-day's
session on account of death in his family.
On motion of Mr. Howard, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Harvey be excused from to-day's
session on account of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Miller, it was

Ordered, That Messrs. Lock and Bald be excused
from to-day's session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Messick, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Hearn be excused from attend-
ance of to-day's session on account of important busi-
ness.

On motion of Mr. Crawford, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Smith be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Jenkins, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Stump be excused from to-day's
session on account of business.

On motion of Mr. Kain, it was

Ordered, That Mr. Oursler be excused from to-day's
session on account of important business.

On motion of Mr. Riggin, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Milbourne be excused from to-
day's session on account of important business.

Mr. Atkinson, of Kent county, made the following
address,

Mr. Speaker:—I rise to a point of personal privilege.

A well known newspaper had made more or less
definite threats that those members of this body who
may be guilty of opposition to a pet measure of that
newspaper, will be held up for public condemnation
as a horrible example to future political aspirants, as
public servants, guilty of betraying the best interests
of their constituencies and State.

The pet measure of the newspaper referred to is,
