The Journal of Wednesday, March 17th, was read
and approved.

PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.

Mr. Lipman presented petition of J. Ludington &
Co., and a number of other packers, protesting against
the enactment of the Haman Oyster Bill.

Which was referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and Tributaries.

Mr. Stump presented petition of citizens of Alle-
gany county, Maryland, protesting against the passage
of a bill to incorporate the town of Barton.

Which was referred to the Allegany delegation.

ORDERS.

On motion of Mr. Howard, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Harvey be excused from to-day's
session on account of sickness.

On motion of Mr. Lansdale, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Johnston be excused on account
of important business.

On motion of Mr. Walbach, it was

Ordered, That the State Printer is instructed to print
an index of the printed bills of the House of Delegates
of this session of the General Assembly, at the cost
$300, to be drawn from the money appropriated for
the printing of said session.
