And whereupon the Said Wm. by Robert: Pirrie his Attorney Saith that whereas the sd Archibald in the year of o^r Lord God

1691&ca at Pocomoke within the Jurisdiction of this Court wa indebted unto the Said Wm. in the Sum of twelve hundred

pounds of tobacco to be paid by the Said Archibald to the Said William as may by Evidences here in Court ready to prove appeare

and the Said Archibald to the Said Wm in manner aforesd being indebted in Consideration thereof did assume upon himself

and to the said William faithfully promise that the said Sum of 1200 pounds of tobacco when he should be thereunto requested

would well and truly pay & Content Nevertheless the said Archibald his promise and assumption aforesd not regarding the

1200 pound of tob as aforesd hath not to the Said Wm: paid Although the said Archibald to doe the same hath been requested

but hath hitherto refused & doth Still refuse to the damage of the Said Wm of 2400 pounds of tobacco & thereupon brings
