The Said Elizabeth then made Contra: } Oath that he the sd Patrick was the ffather of her late Basterd Child Whereupon the Court Patrick: Mcdonnell Ordered sd Patrick to give Security to keep this County harmless from all Charge and trouble ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ that may ensue thereby & for his good behaviour & fees. - - - - - ____ - - - - - ____ Whereupon Came the sd Patrick & his two Securities (viz) Richard:Wharton & Alexander White and the sd Patrick did acknowledge him Self to owe & be indebted unto or Sovereign Lord the King & Queen the Sum of tenn pounds Sterling money & his two Securities in the Sum of five pounds a piece like money all due to be levied on their goods & Chattels Lands & Tenements for their Maties uses &ca. The Condicon of which Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Patrick Mcdonnell shall well & trully Save keep & defend this County from being any wayes indempnified from all Charges & trouble that might ensue by reason of One Basterd Child of Eliz: Hines begott (as said) by sd Patrick, as also to be of the good behaviour and abearance to all their Maties liege people of this Province dureing this Courts pleasure, as also pay Cost of Sute then the above Recognizance to be void & of none effect otherwayes to be & remaine in full power force & vertue – –

The humble Petion of John: Mcknitt humbly Sheweth. To the Worll. ye Justices of the Peace of Somerset County in Court Sitting. That one Amos: Parsons hath a Dogg that is accustomed to Seaze and bite Cattel whereby Several of his Neighbors Cattel is bitten and laimed, and prticularly yr Petioner hath three Cowes much damnified by ye biteing of the Same Dogg and the Said Amos although often required to take up his Dogg and keep him from doing more damage obstinantly refueseth. May it therefore please ye Worpps. to take Some Courses, that yr Petioner & others maybe no more damnified by the Said Dogg, and yr Petioner as in duty bound Shall ever pray &ca. – The abovesd Petion being read, it was by ye Worll. Court Ordered that Amos Parsons make his prsonal appearance before the Court tomorrow ye 15th of this Instant November ano., 1693 Ordered likewise that Sumons issue for Hen: Miles & James Willis that they appr. tomorrow as Evids for Jno.
