answer unto John Russallo & George Benson  of a plea y^t he render unto them y^e full & just sum
of Six hundred & forty pounds of good sound Mertable leafe tobacco in Caske which to them
he oweth & unjustly Deteineth &ca  C  And Whereupon y^e Sd John & George by Peter Dent
their Attorney Say y^t y^e sd Cornelius y^e Second Day of March in y^e year of o^r Lord 1687 at
Manokin within y^e jurisdiction of this Court by his Certaine Bill Obligatory which y^e Sd John &
George with y^e Seale of y^e Sd Cornelius Signed bringeth hereunto Crt y^e Date is hereof is the Day
& year aforesd, acknowledged himselfe to be bound to y^e Sd John & George in y^e Sd full & Just
Sume of Six hundred & forty Pounds of tobacco in Caske to be Paid to y^e Sd John & George
Convenient at Some Port or Towne in Som^rsett County at or upon y^e 10^th Day of 8ber next ensuing
y^e Date of y^e Sd Bill to y^e which Paym^t well & truely to be made y^e Sd Cornelius bound him
Selfe firmly by y^e Sd Bill. Nevertheless y^e the Sd Cornelius y^e Sd Sume of 640 Pounds of tob
to y^e Sd John & George although often Demanded y^e Same to y^e Sd John & George or either
of them hath not rendered but hath hitherto Denyed & Doth Still Deny to y^e Damage of y^e Sd
John & George of 1200 Pounds of tobacco & thereof they bring their Suitt
