    Contra           }        aforesd. in the Province of Maryland. Blacksmith
  Joseph: Bowle : Dft            was Somoned to answer unto Peter Dent of a plea y^t he
~   ~   ~   ~   ~   ~   ~   ~           rend^r. y^e full & just Sum of three hundred & fifty pound
of good Sound Merchantable leaf tobacco & Caske, which to him to him he oweth and
unjustly deteineth &ca . ______    And whereupon y^e Said Peter in his proper p^rson Saith
that the Said Joseph y^e 20.^th day of May in y^e yeare of our Lord. 1691. at Pocomoke with
in the Jurisdiction of this Court by his Certaine Bill Obligatory which the said Peter
with the Seal of the sd Joseph. Signed bringeth here into Court the date whereof is y^e
day and year aforesd acknowledged himself to be indebted to the said Peter in y^e Said
full & just Sum of 350 Pounds of good Sound Merchantable & Caske to be pd to the
Said Peter at Some Convenient place in Somerset County aforesd at or upon the 10^th
day of October next ensueing the date of the Said Bill.  Nevertheless the said Joseph
the Said Tobacco according to the tenou^r of the sd Bill hath not paid but hath hitherto
denyed, and doth still deny to the damage of the sd Peter of 700 Pounds of tobacco.
