(18) Augt. 9th. 1692 Consideration that it had been Some loss & hinderance to the Said Jenckins he therefore was Come to make up the business and would give him the Said Jenckins Eight pounds Sterling to release him of the Said bargain, but the said Jenckins refused it as being B inconsiderable to his damage he was like to Sustaine Dorman replyed he would give no B more, that if he would not take that, viz) the eight pounds Sterling, with the tobaccoes of Bowings repayed he might use his pleasure for he did not value it Since he could not prove his bargaine The Said Jenckins replyed that was the least of his fear: and that he would not question but to gett both his Evidences which were at the bargaine making Sumonsed, & that Since the said Dorman baseness put him upon it he should See that for further proof, he could then prove what he had then owned and of the tenders he had made; and to assure him of it, The said Jenckins then Called to the Deponents: To Show our hands out at the Casement of the window which we did The sd Dorman & Jenckins being out of doores as Dorman was going away, and further Saith not. Ordered pr Court the Sheriffe take into his Custody all non Residents till Security given for their Taxes - - - - - - - - - - - - - Samuel: ffluellin acquitted from his fine vide B.W. Z. fo: 166. Courts adjourned for a quarter of an Hour. after wch. is againe calld. Cmrs prsent mr ffr: Jenckins mr James Round. mr Tho: Jones. mr Ge: Layfield & Capt Jno. King Katherine Trubshaw Daughter of Jno Trubshaw decd, is pr Court put apprentise to John Barber, Courts judgmt . is that the sd Katherine is three years old. The Court allows sd Barber two hundred pounds of tobacco for keeping the Sd Katherine. & mr George Layfield in Open Court promises to give sd Barber four hundred pounds of tobacco towards the bringing up sd Katherine Ordered that the Sheriffe make returne of his writts at the Clerks Office One day before ye Court |
