( 96 ) Maryland Somerset County Ss We doe hereby impower you Capt. Jno. King and mr Henry Lynch Mercht. to Appraise the goods and Chattels of John. Galbraith Mercht. deceased. you having first taken your Oaths before mr. Stephen: Horsey One of their Maties Justices of ye peace for this County And you are to certifie the true value of the said goods and chattels (appraised in money) under your hands and Seals into our County Court held the Second tuesday in January next after the date hereof. This pr Order of Court dated the 8th. day of September in the third year of their Maties Reign. William & Mary. King & Queen Over England &c and in the year of our Lord God One thousand Six hundred ninety and one. Teste pr Jno. West Dept. Clr . Cur Comit Somerset - - - ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Know all men by these presents that we Robert: King, Edward: Jones & Robert: Nearn of the County of Somerset and Province of Maryland Gentm. doe acknowledge & confess our Selves to owe and are indebted to their Maties King William & Queen Mary Over England &c. the just Sum of five hundred pounds Sterling money of England which we promise to pay to their Maties their Heirs or Successors. And for the true performance of the same to be well and truly paid, we bind us and each of us, our Heirs Execcutors and Admrs firmly by these presents in Testimony whereof we have hereunto Sett our hands and Seals this Seaventeenth day of October in the third year of their Maties Reign. Anno Domini. 1691. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Condition of this Obligation is Such that if the above bounden Robert: King, doe well & truly observe and Satisfie the last will and Testament of John: Galbraith deceased which will beareth date the twelvth day of August One thousand Six hundred ninety and One, as well as to pay all and every the debts upon Order had and Obtained from their Maties Justices of Peace in Court Sitting So farr forth as the said Estate will extend or the Law require, And well and truly to observe the Several Clauses mentioned to you in letters of Administration to you granted the 8th. day of September Anno Domini 1691. As also to keep harmless and indempnified the Justices of the Peace of Somerset County for probat of Wills, and granting Administrations and all other Officers therein Concerned, that then this Obligation to be void and of none effect, Otherwayes to be and remain in full power force and vertue. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Signed Sealed and delivered Robert: King Sealed in the sight and presence of us} Edward: Jones.
