In the Name of God Amen the Twelveth day of January one thousand Six hundred eighty & nine I
William Coulbourne of Anamessex in y County of Somerset and Province of Maryland gent being Sick
of body but of perfect memory and remembrance blessed by God: yet Calling to mind y uncertainty of
estate of this Transitory life doe make Constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner
and forme following revoking and dissanulling all former and other wills, by these presents by mee made
and this only and none other to be my last will & testament And first being penitent and heartily Sorry
for all my Sins past I doe Comit my Soule unto Almighty God in hopes through the meritorius dayes
and passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour to receive full pardon and forgivenes of the Same next I
Committ my body to y earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner according to descretion of
my executor hereafter Named And as to the Setling of my temporall estate which it hath pleased
God to bestow upon me far beyond my deserts, I doe give & bequeath in manner & forme following
But first I will that all those debts and Legasies I owe in right and Conscience to any manner of
Person or persons whatsoever Shall be well and truly paid within Convenient time after my decease
Impr:mis I give & bequeath unto my Eldest Sonn William Coulbourne my ful and Sole executor the
plantacon whereon I live now and all the land belonging thereunto excepting Two Tracts
of land: with three negroes vizt Emanuell Betty and Abraham as also my owne horse
Saddle; bridle pistolls and holsters; one press Standing in the outer roome with the table
and Settle bedstead a pare of Andirons and one Chest of drawers in the inward Lower
roome; Six draught oxen with Plow & necessaryes belonging ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~
Secondly I doe give & bequeath unto my Sonn Robert Coulbourne one percel of land Called Harts ease Con
taining Two hundred acres and another percel of land Called Harts Content Containing fifty
Acres to him & his heires for ever also one Negroe Called Jack with one young Sorrel horse
with a blaze downe his face with one Chest of drawers being in the Chamber with Two
Thousand pound of tobacco
Thirdly I doe give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Taylor and John Taylor and to the heires of
their bodies for ever one percel of Land which the Said John Taylor has Cleared upon beginning
at a marked oak deviding it from my Son Williams Land and Soe running up my Creeke to the
land I formerly gave my Daughter Penellopie with one Moletta boy Called Well and one
Mare Called Sweet Lips and I order that my Grandaughter Dorothy have her first Mare Colt
And also I give my four Grandaughters Ann: Jane: Dorothy and Mary Taylor each of them one
Cow Calfe and Dorethy one ewe lamb - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~
ffourthly Also to my Daughter Anne Taylor I give one wanscoat Chest and one Chest more that is in the
Store house with Two Thousand pounds of Tobacco - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~
ffifthly I give & bequeath unto my daughter Penelopie Holland one hive of bees and Twelve pence in
Silver the full of her Legacies and Portion
Sixtly I further give unto my aforesaid Sonn William Colebourne my house that is in Towne as also
my ffeather Bed I lye on with its ffurniture thereto belonging with a bell Mettle Pott and Two
Brass pans Item I give unto my grandaughter Anne Coulbourne one yearling heifer ~ - ~
Seventhly I give unto my Cossin John West one Cow and Calfe ~ - ~ - ~ - ~ - ~
eightly I doe desire that what other personall estate is left when the Legaties are paid be equally
devided amongst my Two Sonns and Daughter vizt William Robert And Ann
Ninethly It is my will & desire that my Sonn Robert & John Taylor have the priviledge of my great pasture
for ther Cretures duering their life times they helping to keepe the fence in repair ~ - ~
in sight

This will proved in open Court the 11th. day of March 1689/90

William and Mary by the Grace of God over England Scotland france & Ireland King & Queen
defendr of the faith &c. To William Coulbourne of Sommr:set County greeting: Whereas Collo
William Colebourne of the Said County deceased: Wee doe therefore give and grant unto
you the Said William Colebourne full power and Authoritie to administer all & Singular
the goods Chattles and Creditors of the Said deceased and to demand Collect and Leavy ~
and in Legall manner require and receive all and all manner of debt and debts
due & oweing to the said deceased and well & faithfully to dispose of the same and out of
the goods Chattles & Creditts of the Said deceased which have may or Shall Come to yor
hands or possession well & truly to pay the debts due by the Said deceased So far forth
as the Same will extend and the Law will Charge you according to the true vallue
