( 191 ) Whereupon Came the aforesd John: Sargeant with his two Securities viz mr Peter Bodkin and Hough= Porter and the said Sargeant did in Open Court by way of Recognizance Confess himself to be indebted To their Maties in the Sum of thirty pounds Sterling money of England, due to be leavied upon his goods and Chattels Lands and Tennements for their Maties uses. And the sd Bodkin & Porter did likewise Confess their Selves to be justly indebted in the Sum of fifteen pounds like money a peece to be leavied ut Supra. - - - - - ____ - - - - ____ The Condition Of the abovesd Recognizance is Such that if the above bounden John Sargeant, doe from time to time and at all times hereafter well and Sufficiently Save keep harmless and defend this County from all trouble or damage that might or may ensue by reason of One Basterd Child borne of the body of Sarah: Caerne as also that he the Said Sargeant be of the good behaviour and abearance to all their Maties Liege people of this Province dureing the Courts pleasure as also pay his owne and the said Sarah: Caerne her fees (viz) Cost of Suit then this Recognizance to be void and of none effect effect, other wayes tobe and remain in full power force & virtue . _____ - - - - - ___ George: Parke Plt Decl Read. agt } The parties being Calld both appearing it was resolved and Ordered by this Court James: Inglish. To the Worll. Justices of their Maties Peace for the County of Somerset in Court now Sitting - The humble petion of John: Hendry humbly sheweth. Whereas yr Petioner had owing & justly indebted unto him by mr John: Calbraith Mercht. lately decd 42 gall of rum to the value at 2S- 6d: pr Gall which amounts to 5£ - 5S - 0 and 8S: to ballance of accounts, whereof yr worps Petioner hath received no part nor percel thereof in payment, yr worps Petioner Craves your worps Order, that the Admr of the Estate may be Ordered to pay the aforesaid Sum, and yr petioner as in duty bound shallever pray &ca. £ s. d.
