( 164 ) Maryland Ss Whereas it is Ordered by ye Councill at White Hall that ye Right Honnorable Charles Lord Barron of Baltemore Propry of ye Province of Maryland yt Shall by himselfe his Agent or Agents Demand, Receive, & Collect, ye Dues and Duties of one Shilling Starling pr hh:d of all tobaccoes Exported - or to be Exported out of this province together with ye Dues and Duties of fourteen pence Sterl: pr tonn arrising out of the Tonnage of all Shipping or Vessells Already Arived or to arrive into this province as by order of the Said Councill Bearing Date of twenty Sixth Day of ffebry 1690 it Doth and may more fully appeare Wherefore by vertue of a power to me Granted by ye Rtt: Hono:ble Charles Lord Barron of Baltemore aforesd, I Doe hereby Depute and Impower Capt Wm: Whittington of Somersett County in ye province afforesd Gent: to Demand, Collect, re= ceive or otherwise Secure from all Masters, Merchants, or others Concerned, treading in or to ye Sd County or yt Shall Cleare with his maties Officers in those Precincts ye Sd Dues and Duties of one Shilling pr hh:d and fourteen pence pr tonn as afforesaid and Certificate or Certificates of ye Same to give to ye Kings Collectr: that ye Same is accordingly Collected, Received or Secured and in his place and Stead or under him to Depute and Impower any other prSon for Collection and receiving ye Dues and Duties as afforesd, the Sd Wm Whittington from time to time Giving Notice and Conveying to me Within Convenient time all Such Bills of Exchange as he Shall take by vertue of these presents for ye Sd Duties, And I Doe hereby further Impower the Sd Wm Whittington to Collect & receive all his Lordships rents, Debts, and Dues, within yd - County of Somersett afforesaid Arrising or Accrueing, or yt is already Due, and receipts for yd Same to give, and pass he ye Sd Wm Whittington from time to time following Such orders, as he Shall receive from me or others his Lorsps: agents and receivers Generll: for ye time being -- In Wittness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale this Sixteenth Day of ffebry 1691 Henry Darnall Sealed Maryland Somerset Ssc. This Indenture made ye fourteenth Day of march in ye 4th year of their maties Reign Wm and Mary by ye Grace of God of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland King & Queen defenrs of ye faith &ca. and in ye year of our Lord God one thousand Six hundred ninety & one Bettwen - Margarett Kennedy of ye one part and James Mynard of ye afforesd County on ye other part Wittnesseth that ye Sd Margarett of her own free will hath put her Selfe an Apprentise to ye aforesaid James Mynard and with him affter ye maner of an Apprentise to Dwell from ye Day of ye Date hereof, untill ye full and terme of Seaven years be fully Compleated ffinished and Ended, by all Which Terme of Seaven years ye Sd apprentice ye Sd James: Mynard well and truely Shall Serve, his Secrets Shall keep Close his Comands Lawfull and honest, everywhere She Shall Gladly Doe, hurt to her Sd master She Shall not Doe or Suffer to be Done to ye value of twelve pence or more by ye years, but Shall lett if She may, or else Immediately admonish her Sd master thereof, the goods of her Sd Master She Shall not Inordinatly Weast nor them to any
