Memorandum That this day to witt the Eleaventh day of March Annoq. Dom. 1689 before us ~ ~
Samuell Hopkins and Stephen Luffe Two of his Maties: Justices of the Peace for the County of SomrSett
Came John Parker and Clemencie his wife in theire Proper Persons and the said Clemencie being -
alone & Secretly examined by the Sd: Justices According to the forme of A Certaine Act of Assembly
in that Case made & Provided Did acknowledge the said in y within written Indenture mentioned
to be the right of him the within named John Booth as that which the said John Booth hath of y
guift of them the Said John & Clemencie his wife and for them & theire heires and the heires of the
Said John have remised and quitt Claime thereof to the Said John Booth and his heires forever and
further the Said John & Clemencie have granted for them and their heires and all & every the heires
of the Said John & Clemencie that the Said Land within mentioned unto him the said John Booth and
his heires against them agt them the Said John and Clemencie and theire heires and all & every the
heires of the Said John & Clemence will warrant for Ever and for this acknowledgement remise quitt
Claime & agreement the Said John Booth hath given them the Said John and Clemencie Six thousand

This Indenture made the sixteenth Day of Aprill Annoq: Dom: 1688 and in the thirteenth year
of the Dominion of the Right honr:ble Charles absolute Lord & Proprietary of the Province of Maryland
And Avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c. Betweene Anthony Underwood of St:Maries County in the
Province of Maryland and Martha his wife of the one part And Simon Perkins of Pocomoke in the
County of Somerset & Province aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth That whereas the Said Lord
Baltemore by his Deed of grant undr: the great Seale used in the Said Province of Maryland for granting
of land there bearing Date at the Citty of St: Maries in the Sd: Province of Maryland for granting of the
14 day of May in the third year of his Said Lordships dominion over the said Province Annoq Domini
one Thousand Six hundred Seaventy and Eight Did for the Consideracon therein mentioned grant unto
Robert Ridgley of St:Maries County gentl: all that Parcell of Land Called Little Belleau Scituate Lyeing
Lieing & being on the east Side of Chesepeake bay on the South Side of Tomactico river Bounded as by y
Said Pattent may appeare Conteining Twelve hundred acres of Land more or Lesse And whereas the aforesd
Robert Ridgely by his last will & Testament bearing date at St:Maries Citty in the said Province the
Twentieth day of December in the year of our Lord God one Thousand Six hundred & eighty Did give grant
his whole Right and Title of all the above mentioned Lands of Little Belleau to his wife Martha Ridgley
and to her heires and assignes for Ever Witnesseth , that the Said Anthony Underwood and Martha
his wife as well for and in Consideration of the Just & full Sume of forty pounds Sterl.and Twenty Thousand
pounds of good marchantable tobacco in hand paid and Secured to be paid to them as also for divers ~
Causes Causes and Considerations them more especially mooving the receit and Security of the
aforesaid money & tobacco the Said Anthony Underwood and Martha his wife doth hereby acknowledge
hath hereby given granted remised Solld and for Ever quitt Claimed enfeoffed & Confirmed & by these
presents doth give grant remise & Sell release for ever quitt Claime enfeoffe & Confirme unto the
said Simons Perkins all their Rite Title and Interest of in & to y above mentioned Tract of Land Called
Little Belleau Containing Twelve hundred Acres of Land more of Lesse Together with all houses
orchards & other Rights & Priviledges and benefitts thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining as
fully and amply as is Contained in y above recited Pattent To have and to hold the Same unto
the Said Simon Perkins and his heires to the onely use & behoofe of the Said Simon Perkins his heires
& assignes for ever only paying & yeilding to the Said Lord Baltemore & his heires the yearly rents &
Service wch is required in the above rented Pattens And the Said Anthony Underwood and
Martha
