November 14th 1691 ( 142 ) Ordered by this Court that the Clerk that now is have some Conveniency at mr Andrew Whittingtons with a lock & key to Secure his Records in dureing the time of Court _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ___ Stephen: Page by Recognizance doth acknowledge & Confess him Selfe to be indebted to their Maties in the Sum of twenty Pounds Sterling money of England, due to be leavyed upon his goods & Chattels Lands & Tennements for their Maties uses &c. Likewise Came the sd Pages Securities, viz mr Matthew Scarbrough and Moses ffenton & by Recogniz did likewise Confess them Selves to be indebted in the Sum of tenn pounds apiece to be Leavied for their Maties uses ut Supra. __ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _______ ~ ~ ~ ___ The Condition of which Recognizance is Such that if the above bound Stephen Page, his wife Bridgett his Sonn Thomas & his daughter Susanna do make their personall appearance at our next County Court to be holden the Second tuesday in January, then & there to answer to Such things as shall be Objected against them on their Maties behalfe &c then the Recognizance to be void & of none effect, otherwayes to be & remaine in full power force & vertue . _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ mr. Andrew: Whittington at the Leavy lying Brought account into Court of Comrs Expences amounting to 7292: The Court allowed the sd Whittington to be pd out of the Leavy then 6000. So that the Comrs then was debter to sd Whittington 1292. / which being Substracted from thre years for License. viz 3600 there then rested due to the sd Comrs 2307. from sd Whittington. Besides 543lb. which sd Whittington was -- indebted to the Comrs in Anno. 1689. which the Clerk finds us Credit for. _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The sd Whittington. Confessed judgmt. to the abovesd 2307. pounds of tobacco. & desired of their worps a Continuance of Ordinary keeping which by this Court was granted _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ _____ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ mr John: Webb did likewise Confess judgment to this Court for 3600 Pounds of tobacco for 3 years licence for Ordinary keeping last past & desired a Continuance which by this Court was granted ________ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Courts adjourned till the Second tuesday in Janry: 1691 ~ ~ ~ _______ ~ ~ ~ ~ _______ ~ ~ ~ ~ John Smock the day abovesd brought his two Securities for due prformance of his worke upon the Bridge at the head of Pocomoke. viz. Jno: ffranklin & Edmund: Hamond, which sd three psons were bound by Recognizance in 3600lb. of tobacco to this Court for the well prformance of the above Said worke. |
