( 128 ) This Bill bindeth me Josias: Seaward Planter of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland me my Heirs, Execcutors and Admrs to pay or Cause to be paid unto John: Loader of Somerset County aforesd his Heirs Execcutors Admrs or Assigns the full & just Sum thirty two & ¾ bushels wheat And two thousand and fifty pounds of good Sound Merchantable leaf tobacco & Caske Conveniente at Pocomoke River in Somerset County at or upon the tenth day of October Ensueing the date hereof As wittness my hand and Seal this Sixteenth day of May 1687 - - - - - - - - - Josias: Seaward Sealed Sealed and delivered in the prsence of Ja: Sangster // upon ye back of this Bill was writ as followeth - George: Seaward // Recd this 7. June 1688 in part of this Bill Eighteen hundred & Sixty Six pounds tobacco & three bushels wheat I say recd pr John: Loader . -- mr Josias Seaward. the 17: July 1688 Please to pay unto mr Richard: ffarewell, the Contents of this Bill that remains due, also two hundred pounds of tobacco you engaged to pay for Walter Lodge Chyrurgeon, & One hundred & ninety three pounds tobacco yw engaged to pay me for your Brother Robinson at his Store. this with his receit Shall be your discharge for the same from your Loving friend. The humble Petion of Rich: ffarewell humbly sheweth. That whereas the Estate of Josias: Seaward, late of this County deceased is indebted to your Petioner, the abovesd Sum of Seaven hundred eighty Six pounds of tobacco & twenty nine bushels three pecks of wheat, which yr Petioner desires to make appear upon Oath allowing what may justly appear that mr John: Loader had in Cyder at his departure out of these parts. & your Petioner Craves Ordr therefore and as in duty bound Shall ever pray. &c. - - - - - - - - - - - - The accot. & Petion being read: the Admr to sd Seawards Estate being present (viz) mr Walter Lane, who ~ with the sd ffarewell discompted One hundred & ninety pounds of tobacco. from ye abovesd Sum. 786 & did Confess judgment for the rest (viz) for 596. - & the wheat . - - - - - - - Ordr. granted for ye Same als Executia // |
