be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

3. Each Supervisor of Elections appointed under Section
1 (a) or Section 1 (c) of this Article shall receive an annual
salary as follows: In Allegany County, $480; in Anne
Arundel County, $300; in Baltimore City, $3, 190; in Balti-
more County, $1, 500; in Calvert County, $100; in Caro-
line County, $250; in Carroll County, $400; in Cecil County,
$150; in Charles County, $125; in Dorchester County, $200;
in Frederick County, $480; in Garrett County, $125; in
Harford County, $300; in Howard County, $300; in Kent
County, $300; in Montgomery County, $900; in Prince
George's County, $400; in Queen Anne's County, $250; in
St. Mary's County, $200; in Somerset County, $250; in
Tablot County, $250; in Washington County, $400; in
Wicomico County, $300; in Worcester County, $300. Such
salaries and any other expenses incurred by said Super-
visors under this Article, shall be paid by the County Com-
missioners of their respective counties or by the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore City, as the case may be, in such
installments as the said County Commissioners or Mayor
and City Council may prescribe, and they shall receive no
other fees or compensation, except as hereinafter provided.
Each substitute Supervisor appointed under Section 1 (b)
of this Article shall receive a per diem compensation of
not less than Ten Dollars ($10) per day for each day actual-
ly served by him, to be fixed by the County Commissioners
of the respective counties or the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore City, as the case may be.

(b) Beginning with January 1, 1948, the Supervisors of
Elections of the City of Baltimore shall have a chief clerk at
a salary of Four Thousand and Ninety-five Dollars ($4, 095. 00)
per annum, an assistant chief clerk at a salary of Four Thou-
sand and Ninety-five Dollars ($4, 095. 00) per annum, two
registrars at a salary of Thirty-four Hundred and Sixty-five
Dollars ($3, 465. 00) each per annum, two clerks at a salary
of Thirty-one Hundred and Ninety Dollars ($3, 190. 00) each
per annum, one clerk at a salary of Twenty-six Hundred and
Forty Dollars ($2, 640. 00) per annum, two clerks at a salary
of Twenty-five Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($2, 530. 00) each
per annum, thirteen clerks at a salary of Twenty-four Hun-
dred and Twenty Dollars ($2, 420. 00) each per annum, four
clerks at a salary of Twenty-two Hundred Dollars ($2, 200. 00)
each per annum, a custodian of voting machines at a salary
of Twenty-six Hundred and Forty Dollars ($2, 640. 00) per
annum, three deputy custodians of voting machines at a salary
of Twenty-four Hundred and Twenty Dollars ($2, 420. 00)
