of Five Thousand Dollars ($5, 000. 00) each over a period of
thirty years, accounting from their date of issue, subject to
prior redemption in order of their consecutive numbers at
par plus accrued interest, from funds designated by said
Mayor and City Council for that purpose.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
paying the interest and redeeming said bonds according to
the terms of their issuance, the Mayor and City Council of
Havre de Grace shall annually levy a tax upon the assessable
property of said City.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That any ordinance of
the Mayor and City Council of Havre de Grace, adopted pur-
suant to the provisions hereof, shall be submitted for accept-
ance or rejection to the legally qualified voters of the City of
Havre de Grace at the next regular municipal election on the
first Monday in May, 1948, in accordance with the terms of
the Charter of the City of Havre de Grace, as enacted by
Chapter 835 of the Laws of 1941, and amendments thereto.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 74.
(House Bill 41)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
3 and Sub-section (b) of Section 4 of Article 33 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Elec-
tions", sub-title "Election Officials", as said sections were
enacted by Chapter 934 of the Acts of 1945, relating to the
salaries of the Supervisors of Elections of the City of
Baltimore, and of their employees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 3 and Sub-section (b) of Section 4 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Elections", sub-title "Election Officials", as said
sections were enacted by Chapter 934 of the Acts of 1945,
