mission to finance the acquisition of additional and needed
park lands in that portion of the Maryland-Washington
Metropolitan District lying within Prince George's County
by the borrowing of the necessary funds for such acquisi-
tions in accordance with the plan of cooperation between
the United States of America and the State of Maryland
outlined in the above mentioned Act of Congress; directing
and requiring the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County to levy annually upon all property subject to assess-
ment by it within that portion of the Maryand-Washington
Metropolitan District lying within Prince George's County
an ad valorem tax of five cents (5c) on each One Hundred
Dollars ($100. 00) of such assessable property, said tax
being a portion of the seven cent (7c) tax which said
County Commissioners of Prince George's County is author-
ized to levy in said portion of said District by Chapter
1008 of the Laws of Maryland of 1943; and to repeal all laws
or parts of laws inconsistent herewith.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That whenever The Maryland-National Capital Park and
Planning Commission shall elect to exercise the powers con-
ferred upon it by Section VI of Chapter 1008 of the Laws of
Maryland of 1943, with respect to the acquisition of park
lands in that portion of the Maryland-Washington Metro-
politan District lying within Prince George's County, for the
purpose of obtaining the benefits of sub-sections (a) and (b)
of Section 1 of Public Law No. 284 of the Congress of the
United States, 71st Session, said Commission shall also be,
and hereby is, authorized and empowered to, exercise said
powers so conferred with respect to the acquisition of the
additional park lands in that portion of said Maryland-
Washington Metropolitan District lying within Prince George's
County referred to in said Act of Congress, as amended by
Public Law No. 699 of the 79th Congress, approved August 8,
1946, it being the intent and purpose of this section to provide
that, in so far as the acquisition of park lands in that portion
of the Maryland - Washington Metropolitan District lying
within Prince George's County only is concerned, The Mary-
land-National Capital Park and Planning Commission shall
have the power and authority to avail itself of the financial
benefits of said Public Law No. 284, not only with respect
to the park lands listed in said Act of Congress but, also,
with respect to the additional park lands listed in said Public
Law No. 699.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the boundaries of
the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District are hereby
altered by the addition thereto of the two (2) following de-
scribed areas, which said areas shall hereafter become integral
portions of said Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District
