                                   CHAPTER 94.

AN ACT to establish a new Election District in Cecil
                                         County.



Passed April
11, 1853.
     SECTION 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland,
That for the greater convenience of
voting in Cecil county, a new election district be created
out of parts of election districts, numbers six and seven,
of said county.
     New district
to be created.
      SEC. 2.  And be it enacted, That the boundaries of
said district shall be as follows:  beginning at the
Octoraro creek where it enters into Maryland, thence
down said creek to the Susquehanna river, up said
river to the Pennsylvania line, and thence along said
line to the place of beginning.

     SEC. 3.  And be it enacted, That all that portion
hereby laid off from the sixth and seventh districts, shall
constitute the eighth election district, and the polls shall
be held at Mount Pleasant, known as Rowling's Store.

     SEC. 4.  And be it enacted, That the sheriff of Cecil
county shall give notice of the place of holding the
election in said district, causing the same to be inserted
in two newspapers printed in Cecil county, once a
week for at least one month previous to holding the election
in November eighteen hundred and fifty-three.

      SEC. 5.  And be it enacted, That the inhabitants
of said district shall be in all respects entitled to all the
rights, liberties and privileges held or to be held and
enjoyed by the other election districts in said county.

     SEC. 6.  And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

                                   CHAPTER 95.

AN ACT to authorise the Commissioners of Allegany
     County, to levy for the use of Lewis Howell, taxes
      overpaid.



Passed April
9, 1853.
     Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Commissioners of Allegany county be,
and the same are hereby authorised to levy for the use
     Authority to
levy.
